About the Artists


Natalie Godinez

Natalie Godinez is an educator and artist raised in Tijuana, México. Her experience as an educator ranges from teaching literacy to elementary-aged youth to working as a teaching artist for various organizations across California. Godinez's art practice focuses on textile work and printmaking with themes of memory and its relationship to objects, place and language. She is part of AMBOS Project (Art Made Between Opposite Sides) an artist collective focused on artistic interventions and humanitarian efforts along the US-México border, and is currently the Community Engagement Coordinator for
Self Help Graphics & Art in Los Angeles, CA. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Applied Design from San Diego State University.

jennifer frost moreno

Jennifer Frost Moreno is an activist, scholar, professor, podcaster and curator who holds a Master’s of Art in History and Theory of Contemporary Art from the San Francisco Art Institute. While at SFAI, Frost Moreno conducted original research exploring the intersections of race, power, gender and sexuality as seen in political activism, specifically, in the visual cultures of the immigrant rights movement of 2006-present. Frost Moreno is a third generation Chihuaha, Mexico, native who works closely with her community as a queer Chicanx person residing in Sherman Heights, San Diego.

Currently, Frost Moreno is a Professor of Chicana and Chicano Studies at San Diego Mesa College as well as Professor of Art History at Grossmont College. Her teaching methodology implores empathy, equity, community-building, and access as essential elements towards attributing success to particularly affected students including: undocumented students, homeless and food insecure students, queer students, BIPOC students, and those faced with generational traumas including economic, physical, and mental disabilities. Frost Moreno focuses on projects that utilize democratic mediums such as: printmaking, murals, zines, podcasting, and film.
